Soft Materials
OUR DESIRE
” We believe in a human-oriented future and exactly this fact will reflect the materials surrounding us – I see a shift towards more softness and tactility in our future room design” – Lise N. /designer
HARDNESS AND SOFTNESS AS CONTRASTS
Hardness and softness are contrasting elements that coexist and cooperate in all materials surrounding us . Take a look back in time, almost all lighting fixtures had a hard consistency,
and when you were asked to think of lighting pendants, the first images that came to your mind were probably painted steel fixtures or profiles.Hard materials are still dominant but a change is on the way .
We intend to be a part of that change.
THE CONTRAST IS SOFTNESS
Nevertheless , Lighting fixtures can also be soft – both when it comes to design and choice in materials. Softness in materials is a topic that is more often discussed and can potentially change our society and the way we live radically.
Softness can bring interior items and to us lighting fixtures closer to humans because it is simply more similar to us than hard materials. We believe in a soft future and that people in a fast changing world looking towards materials that reflect humanity, empathy and togetherness.
WHAT IS EXACTLY SOFTNESS ?
Softness is a quality that comes from nature. In nature you never find straight lines like man-made steel products. In nature you feel and experience organic shapes and all surfaces in nature are tactile and soft. In our world of today many people are returning their attention back to nature. Observing the silence , the simplicity , the softness and tactility and still nature has an order. Translated into our interior materials you find these qualities in textiles and sound absorbers . As an extra benefit open structured materials also has the ability to absorb voices and noise in our rooms.
IS THE FUTURE SOFT ?
Yes … and no. We believe it will be a mixture of hard and soft materials. With no doubt we will find more warm materials from nature like wood and design more organic forms and textile will shape our future . “Softer, more organic and feminine design is the future “
We are here to bring more softness and tactility into future room design.
